I am an Auburn University alum and Zealous Fan. For the longest time, Auburn has been the "other school in Alabama" when it comes to football. But, that's not the case with🏀 (or gymnastics, golf, equestrian, bass fishing, etc., etc.) ! And, I'm turning to my favorite team for this week's volume of our Inspirational Quote Series.
Some quotes stick with you because they’re simple. Others because they’re profound. Live Where Your Feet Are? That’s both.
Dylan Cardwell, the center for Auburn’s #1-ranked basketball team, lives by this mantra. It’s a reminder to be fully present—to lock in on where you are and what you’re doing, instead of getting distracted by everything else pulling for your attention.
That’s something we can all relate to, whether we’re leading a business, running a marketing campaign, or just trying to balance it all.
Marketing often feels like a constant tug-of-war between what’s working now and what’s next. We chase trends, shift strategies, and stress over future results—sometimes so much that we forget to execute right now.
The best marketing? It happens in the moment. When brands:
✅ Show up consistently in the spaces where their audience is already engaged.
✅ Focus on quality over just quantity—crafting messages that matter.
✅ Adapt in real-time based on what’s resonating (instead of rigidly sticking to a pre-set plan).
Great marketing isn’t just about forecasting the future—it’s about owning the present.
As business owners, leaders, and professionals, it’s easy to get caught up in what’s ahead—next quarter, next goal, next challenge. But when we’re constantly living in the next, we miss what’s happening now.
Living where your feet are means:
🌟 Being fully present in conversations, rather than thinking about what’s next on the to-do list.
🌟 Celebrating wins before rushing into the next challenge.
🌟 Prioritizing the people in front of us—not just the emails and deadlines waiting in our inbox.
Dylan Cardwell may use this mantra on the court, but it applies far beyond basketball. In business, in marketing, in life—the best results happen when we lock in and give our all to the moment we’re in.
What’s one way you can live where your feet are today? Whether it’s engaging more intentionally with your team, your customers, or your own goals, drop your thoughts in the comments! ⬇️
